Join us Sunday, May 10th from 10-11:30am for a Mother’s Day floral arranging class with blooms from local Philadelphia growers, lead by floral designer Genise Deal, founder of Genaissance. Breakfast treats and refreshments provided by Ellen Jane, a talented local pastry chef.
Genise is the owner and operator of Genaissance, trained in European, Ikebana, Traditional, and Manhattan Corporate Style. She has over a decade of experience in design and art installation. Her aim is to create harmony and balance through embellishing the natural world. The Renaissance period inspires her floral expression. She explores femininity through bold colors, in conversation with Matisse, and always tries to reinterpret Renaissance compositions, such as Botticelli’s “The Birth of Venus.”
A former 7th-grade science teacher, she has led a floral design class for the past 4 years. She has learned from Gabriella Nemati of Nature’s Gallery, Sarah Ryheanna of Saipua, and Hitomi Gillium. She has taught Floral Design for the Philadelphia Orchard and demonstrated design principles at World’s End School of Crafts and Agriculture.
